We are proud to present our first residential project to have obtained LEED GOLD certification.
The project consists in the renovation and expansion of three existing housing units in a triplex in the Rosemont-la-Petite Patrie borough. It required the lifting of the existing building, new foundations and its complete renovation.
The main idea was to implement a new two-story brick volume at the rear and connect it to the existing building at the front, clearly distinguishing the old from the new. Provided with generous terraces, the new rear volume makes it possible to bridge the existing three-storey building with the neighboring two-storey buildings. The truncated shape of the addition also made it possible to retain a magnificent cherry tree in the backyard. These accommodations now benefit from spacious living spaces, large private terraces as well as three to four bedrooms, ideal for families. The generous fenestration provides increased interior brightness, while allowing privileged views to be framed on elements of the surrounding landscape.
Several technical aspects such as superior thermal and acoustic insulation, as well as optimum airtightness, contribute to maximum comfort for the occupants. The huge roof terrace allows the installation of numerous planting boxes as well as solar panels according to future needs. In the backyard, the parking spaces are located on ground permeable to water and are equipped with charging stations for electric cars.
This project shows that it is possible to breathe new life into an old triplex while respecting the surrounding built environment.
